Small Chologue seeds are strung a long with the black beads to make a beaded loop.Artistically crafted for you from the Shipibo people.

The women or Shipibas, produce most of the artesania. They create beautiful pottery, textiles, and jewelry with designs that are unique to the Shipibo. These women are strong, beautiful, loving mothers who work hard to provide for their children.
The Shipibas use a variety of seeds from native plants in their jewelry making.

These include Job's Tears or Coix Seeds are used for jewelry throughout the world and have been an an important part of the Shipibo culture for centuries.They are also used as food much like corn or rice, and in traditional medicines. Job's Tears is a tall grass that grows easily, in warmer climates around the world. It was originally grown in higher elevation where rice and corn would not grow but it has adapted to grow well in warm dry places.
